"Integrating Faith into our Work and seeing Work as a means of caring for and transforming others brings deeper purpose and meaning to life". When faith and work are harmoniously integrated, life becomes engaging and fulfilling. It's about recognizing that our work can be a tangible expression of our faith, making our life holistic and purpose-driven to heed our vocation and fulfilling the mandate of work in our life through charism by the working of God in us. Hence, our work is important, it becomes God's work in caring and transforming the people through us.

Luther's on Work

30 Oct.2024

Special topic: The Marketplace Friendly church,

A Lutheran Perspectives

To create a holistic Marketplace Friendly Church within the Lutheran community, we must acknowledge the deep link between our faith and our work in the Lutheran theology.  Luther's reformation did not just brought faith back to the church but he gaves back the theology of the people to the people.  He blends the spiritual beliefs with their professional lives, to foster a community that encourages both personal and collective growth by transforming the notion of work though vocation and charism. His notion of work anchored on vocation and charism can be considered as the 2nd most important pillars of the reformation

1 SCRIPTURE @WORK

Proverbs 27:2

Proverbs 27:2 (KJV): “Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.”

Nuggets on worklife:

Reputation at work is everything, this is the best testimonial for our work and faith.

Good reputation is a springboard  towards more business and a good testimonial for our faith which is integrated with our works. Bad reputation would mean we hinder and cut off business.

This week, I encourage you to do everything you can to treat people as you would like to be treated. Do your best to provide quality products and service, with significant value and benefits. You'll never please everyone all the time, but in God’s mysterious ways, people will speak well of you and new opportunities will arise, in His time and in His way.

Let another man praise your work with the evidence through faith and not the results of self praise.

"If it falls to your lot to be a street sweeper, sweep the street like Micheangelo painted pictures, like Shakespeare wrote poetry, like Beethoven composed music; sweep street so well all the host of Heaven and earth will have to pause and say, "Here lived a great sweeper, who sweep his job well".
